Ride Day Logistics

How do I know my start time?

All riders start together. Each start line begins with an opening ceremony at 7:15am and ride start at 7:30am. To enhance rider safety and minimize congestion, riders are typically released in pulsed waves at the start of the route.

What are the course hours?

The course is officially open from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Riders outside of these hours may not have access to rest stops, SAG support, or emergency services.

What happens if it rains?

Rain alone will not cancel the ride. However, severe weather, including lightning, may result in delays, route modifications, or other safety measures. Please pay close attention to instructions from event staff and volunteers and watch for safety updates via text message throughout the event.

Where can I park?

Parking is available at all Start and Finish line locations. Please follow volunteer direction and signage to find the correct parking areas.

Can guests join at the finish line?

Absolutely. We welcome spectators to cheer riders on at designated start lines, lunch stops, and finish locations, and to use routes that do not follow the rider course when traveling between locations. Please be mindful of rider safety when arriving at event venues and avoiding parking or driving in areas where riders are entering, exiting, or gathering.

Is there an app I can download to track other riders?

Yes. You can download the Blood Cancer United Cycle app to track friends and family as they make their way along the route.

Minimum age requirements are 8 years old for the 25-mile route and 12 years old for all other ride distances. A parent or legal guardian must accompany all riders under the age of 18.

What safety rules should riders follow?

For everyone’s safety:

  • Helmets are required
  • Obey all traffic laws
  • Display clear hand or verbal signals
  • Ride single file
  • No personal SAG vehicles on route
  • Follow instructions from event staff and law enforcement

Course Support

What is SAG support?

SAG (Support & Gear) vehicles are available throughout the course to assist riders and transport bikes when needed. Riders are typically transported to the nearest rest stop. SAG drivers cannot repair bikes. For the safety and experience of all participants, personal SAG vehicles are not allowed on the course. Dedicated event support vehicles will be available throughout the route to assist riders as needed.

Can I have a personal SAG vehicle support me on course?

No. For the safety of all participants, personal SAG vehicles and family or friends following riders on the course are not permitted. Spectators are encouraged to cheer riders on at designated start lines, lunch stops, and finish locations, and to use routes that do not follow the rider’s course. Please be mindful of rider safety when arriving at event venues and avoiding parking or driving in areas where riders are entering, exiting, or gathering. Our event provides on-course SAG, mechanical, and medical support throughout the weekend.

Where are the rest stops?

Fully stocked rest stops are located approximately every 10-12 miles along the course and offer hydration, snacks, mechanical support, and rider assistance.

Are bike mechanics available?

Bike mechanics will be available at the start, finish, and all rest stops.

What medical support is available?

Emergency medical personnel will be stationed throughout the event. For life-threatening emergencies, call 911 first, then contact Ride Command using the number printed on your wristband.

Are meals included?

Yes. Meals are included for registered riders. Simply wear your rider wristband throughout the weekend. Family and friends must purchase a guest meal wristband to participate, and limited guest meal tickets may be available on-site. If you skip Saturday dinner, your meal will be donated back to support the Blood Cancer United mission.
