Scenic Shore Bike Tour wouldn’t be possible without the hundreds of volunteers who generously give their time throughout the year and on event weekend.
Register to volunteer through our online volunteer form, where you can select your preferred role and shift. Volunteer Registration for the 2027 ride will open early 2027. Please reach out directly to [email protected] in the meantime with any questions.
Cheer Team
Pump up our riders and cheer them on along the route! You will be provided with cheer supplies and stationed in groups along the route and at rest stops. Bring a strong set of lungs and a lot of spirit!
Clean-up Team
We like to leave each location the way we found it. We supply our own garbage containers and a truck that sweeps the end of the route to gather all our refuse. Help is needed packing up a venue and preparing for the garbage truck’s arrival.
Finish Line
We need full support at our finish lines. Volunteers will be designated to help with tasks such as handing out chocolate milk, wet towels, water, etc.
Meal Support
Within this 2-day ride, there are 6 meals! Serving support and clean-up are needed for each meal.
Rest Stop Support
There are many rest stops on our route. Each is fully stocked with food and beverages to replenish the riders. Volunteers are needed to keep the tables stocked. Please note: this position may require heavy lifting or standing for long periods of time.
SAG Drivers
Throughout the ride, official event SAG vehicles span the course supporting riders with actions such as transporting riders to rest stops, calling for medical support, and alerting staff to possible hazardous conditions. SAG drivers on the course when the first rider leaves until the last rider comes in. Please note: this position requires a DMV background check and may require heavy lifting.
Start Line (Mequon)
On ride morning, 1250+ riders begin their journey. Volunteers help riders park, check-in, pick up route maps, drop off their luggage, turn in their donations, and eat a hearty breakfast. This is a Saturday morning commitment.
Parking and Traffic Control
Greet and direct participants as they arrive at venues to find the correct parking area. Assist with keeping flow of traffic with safety top of mind.
Many of our volunteer groups have been part of Scenic Shore for decades. We love seeing familiar faces return year after year. If you’d like to stay involved with Blood Cancer United and future events, let us know—we’d love to have you as part of our volunteer family.
