Registration Info

Registration Information

Ready to take on the Firefighter Stairclimb?

Whether you’re returning to the climb or participating for the first time, here’s everything you need to know before registering.

Registration Process

Every participant must register individually.

Participants of the 2025 or 2026 Firefighter Stairclimb sign in using the same username and password.

New participants of Firefighter Stairclimb—or last participated before 2025—will create a new account during registration.

After registering, participants will be added to their department team within 2 weeks.

Registration Dates

Early Bird Registration

Early Bird registration is available to participants who raised $1,800 or more during the previous year’s Firefighter Stairclimb.

Eligible participants receive an email with registration instructions before Early Bird Registration opens on September 8 at 0900 PT, giving them the opportunity to register early.

General Registration

General Registration opens each fall and typically fills in less than an hour.

Registration opens: September 30 at 0900 PT

If registration reaches capacity, you can still join the waitlist.

Waitlist

If the event is full, you can register for the waitlist and begin fundraising with your department team while you wait.

As climbing spots become available, waitlisted participants are invited based on a combination of factors, including:

  • Funds raised
  • Registration date
  • Personal connection to the mission
  • Years of participation

Our goal is always to welcome as many waitlisted firefighters as possible. While we work hard to make that happen, placement depends on openings that become available and cannot be guaranteed.

The last day to register on the waitlist is February 19, 2027.

Registration fee and fundraising minimum

The Firefighter Stairclimb registration fee is $80.

Each participant also commits to raising a minimum of $500 before climb day.

The registration fee does not count toward the fundraising minimum.

Registered Participants who meet the fundraising minimum receive:

  • Event T-shirt
  • Timing chip
  • Race bib
  • Post-climb refreshments

Access to Columbia Center on climb day is reserved for registered participants who meet the fundraising minimum.

Climbing divisions

Participants may register in one of two divisions.

Fire division

Complete the climb wearing full structural turnout gear and SCBA.

Open division

Complete the climb wearing athletic clothing while still wearing an SCBA.

Click here to learn more about the Open Division.

If you’d like to change divisions after registering, complete the Division Change form before the published deadline.

Changes to your registration

I can no longer climb, what do I do? If you’re unable to participate, please complete the Swap/Drop Form.

Dropping prior to February 19, 2027
Check with your Team Captain to see if someone from your team is currently registered on the waitlist and able to take your climbing spot.

Funds raised cannot be credited to another climber if you drop.

Dropping after February 19, 2027
Please note that you will still be responsible for meeting the $500 fundraising minimum to remain eligible to climb in 2028.

Funds raised cannot be credited to another climber if you drop.

One of the most common registration errors is “Signatures Do Not Match.” This is often caused by security settings on workplace, hospital, financial institution, or school networks.

If you receive this error, try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Enter your signature with two spaces between your first and last name.
  • If your browser used autofill, clear the fields and type your name manually.
  • Check for your extra spaces before or after your name.

If you’re still unable to register, please contact Customer Support for assistance.
