Safety

Your safety is our top priority. Review important ride-day policies, course hours, road closures, rider support resources, and emergency information before event weekend.

Ride Policies

  • Helmets required
  • Obey all traffic laws
  • Display clear hand or verbal signals
  • Ride single file
  • Minimum rider age: 13 years old. Riders under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who is also registered, for the duration of the ride.
  • E-bikes welcome if designed for road riding. Throttles may not be used during the ride, and some local bike paths prohibit e-bikes. Please arrive with a fully charged battery and charging cable. Charging stations are not available at most rest stops, so riders should plan accordingly. Please note that mechanics and SAG support may not be able to assist with all e-bike issues, and some e-bikes do not fit on standard bike racks used by support vehicles.

Road Closures

  • Highway 89: Northbound traffic will be delayed from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM between Baldwin Beach Rd. and Vikingsholm Parking Lot. Southbound traffic remains open.
  • Highway 50: The westbound right lane from Spooner Summit to Kahle Dr. will be closed to vehicles during the ride.

On Course Support

Course Hours are from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Riders outside these hours may not have access to rest stops, SAG vehicles, or event support.

Bike Mechanics will be available at the start, finish, and all rest stops except the ½ Spooner water stop. We recommend carrying a spare tube and inflation device. Ride Command information will be printed on your ride wristband for on-course support needs.

Emergency and medical services will be available throughout the event. For life-threatening emergencies, call 911 first, then contact Ride Command using the phone number on your wristband.

Support & Gear (SAG) vehicles are available throughout the course to assist riders and transport bikes when needed. Riders are typically taken to the next rest stop, where bike mechanics may be available. Please note that SAG drivers cannot perform bike repairs and do not return to the Start/Finish area until the course closes.

Course Safety Policies

For the safety of all participants, personal SAG vehicles and family or friends following riders on the course are not permitted. Spectators are encouraged to cheer riders on at designated start and finish locations. Please be mindful of rider safety when arriving at event venues and avoiding parking or driving in areas where riders are entering, exiting, or gathering. For rider safety, no cars are allowed to drive to the finish line; shuttles are provided for guests. Our event provides on-course SAG, mechanical, and medical support throughout the weekend.
