Event Volunteers

America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride: Powered by Volunteers

America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride would not be possible without the hundreds of dedicated volunteers who donate their time and energy to support the event during event  weekend and throughout the year.

What to Expect

    • Volunteer shifts vary in length (3 to 8 hours depending on the role).
    • Timeliness and enthusiasm are crucial—many volunteers are the first point of contact for riders, it’s our goal to create a safe, fun, and amazing experience for all riders.
    • Some roles require physical activity, such as lifting or extended periods of standing.
    • All volunteers will receive training materials and a designated point of contact for questions prior to starting their shift.
    • Volunteers will experience the event firsthand
*except for roles like packet stuffing and finish-line cleanup
    • Group volunteering is available! Some volunteer roles and areas are already assigned to long-standing volunteer groups, but we welcome new groups to get involved!
    • Support and breaks will be provided, along with hydration and snacks at your station.

Volunteer Roles

Start Line Support
Help get over 2,500 riders squared away in Stateline, NV, on the morning of the ride. Volunteers assist with ushering riders into the start line chute and ensuring everything runs smoothly. (Early morning commitment required.)

Rest Stop Support
Keep riders fueled and motivated! Volunteers will set up and maintain stocked rest stop tables with water, sports drinks, fruit, and snacks while cheering on participants. Some lifting may be required.

Finish Line Support
High energy needed! Volunteers assist with various tasks, including gear check, merchandise, and ensuring a smooth experience for riders as they cross the finish line.

Cheer Team
Bring the energy and make some noise! Volunteers will be stationed along the route and at rest stops with cowbells, pom-poms, and noisemakers to boost rider morale.

Traffic Control
Help keep cyclists and spectators safe by managing intersections and guiding foot and bike traffic at key points along the route.

SAG (Support & Gear) Drivers
Drive official event vehicles along the course to assist riders in need, transport bikes, and communicate potential hazards. (Must pass a background and driving check.)

Packet Pickup
Assist with distributing rider packets, T-shirts, and answering participant questions during registration. A great role for friendly, detail-oriented volunteers.

Trash & Sustainability Crew
Keep our finish line celebration green! Volunteers will monitor trash and recycling bins, empty full bags, and ensure proper waste sorting to maximize recycling efforts. A great role for those passionate about sustainability.
