Welcome to Team Karen's support group. Thank you for visiting and supporting the cure for blood cancer.
As you remember my Mom, Karen Janus, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in April 2023. After starting her intense 7+3 chemo at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis she underwent 35 days in that hospital. 12 flights, 3 bone marrow biopsy’s, countless blood tests, and losing her hair, she completed chemotherapy and went home the following month. She continued with a different chemo plan through August and was officially in remission six months later, October 2023. I’m fundraising for her and countless others who don’t have the blessing to see life after Blood Cancer.
As of Wednesday, March 26 we return to the hospital for another bone marrow biopsy as her blood mutation tests resulted in a low level positive result. We are hopeful for our next treatment plan, but welcome continued prayers and support until we learn more.
Any donation to support Patient Support & Education for LLS will go a long way; $5, $10, $25. Please double check to see if your Employer will match your donation and all donations are tax deductible. We can not fight this cause alone and need your help to ensure this doesn't continue for our family and others currently fighting for a few more years with their loved ones.
Visionaries look to the future--and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo--and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world--and lead the charge to create it.
I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help! The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on this same vision--of a better world--one without blood cancers.
This year, I am proud to be participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Visionaries of the Year campaign as a team member, working to make the largest impact possible for LLS's mission.
As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:
Please consider supporting this organization by making a contribution to my campaign, and by sharing the link to my page with your network. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. For more information on LLS, please visit www.LLS.org
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support.
