Dear Family, Friends, and Local Business Owners,

I am extremely excited and honored to have been nominated as a candidate for 2025 Visionary of the Year – as part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). As many of you know, each year the LLS nominates several local men and women to run a campaign to raise funds in the ever-continuing search for a cure to cancer. The LLS mission: To cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma in addition to improving the quality of life for patients and their families.

 I have worked at Saint Agnes Medical Center for over 32 years and all that time has been spent working on the Medical Oncology units. Oncology has always held a special place in my heart and even more so, when my mother Nancy Pierce was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I saw firsthand how cancer can impact not only a patient’s life, but their entire support system as well.  My family has been blessed because my mother is a cancer survivor and has been cancer free for over 20 years. Not every story has a happy ending and I am hoping that with your help and support, we can try to change that.  My team, and I will be working hard to raise funds in honor of my Mother and all the individuals and families affected by this devastating disease.  The 10-week campaign will kick off on Thursday, March 20^th with the culminating Grand Finale event on Friday, May 30^th. Our team goal is to raise $25,000 by the end of the Grand Finale event.

Every $.76 on the dollar goes directly to blood cancer research through the LLS foundation. Since 2017, LLS has helped advance over 85% of the 100 FDA approved blood cancer treatments. And many of these LLS supported therapies have also led to advances in other types of cancers like bone, brain, and breast. Every tax-deductible dollar we raise counts as a vote towards my campaign and helps support the LLS mission to find a cure. Please consider donating towards this cause.
