WELCOME TO MY TEAM IN TRAINING (TNT) HOME PAGE!
This year, on the third month anniversary of my husband Dennis Millard’s passing on May 17, 2021 from Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and Multiple Myeloma (MM), I signed up to ride with LLS Team in Training to honor my husband’s passing and memory.
Dennis was the love of my life and I was blessed to have him in my life for 37+ married years. Dennis zest for life was infectious and mind boggling and I was fortunate enough to be with Dennis on an incredible journey. In the end, having AML and MM along with two other cancers were simply too much for Dennis. I held his hand as he transcended into the heavens.
It was a long fight for Dennis to battle these cancers for 7 ½ years, but I could not have done this without the wonderful support from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). I am forever indebted to this awesome organization. Because LLS is near and dear to my heart, I want to help other cancer patients fighting blood and lymphoma cancers.
With the treatments, Dennis was able to maintain his quality of life and keep an upbeat attitude as he fought his cancers. I know that he would encourage me to do this bike ride as he would want me to help other cancer patients win the battle.
So to keep his spirit alive in my heart, I have decided to do this fundraiser in Dennis’ memory. It will be quite a challenge for me to raise the funds as well as to cycle 72 miles around Lake Tahoe. This is my way of paying back LLS, helping other cancer patients and honoring Dennis.
Please join me in donating to LLS to help save lives. Your donation will help raise funds to find cures and ensure access to these treatments. Patients, like Dennis, need these cures and your support. Plus this is a tax deductible donation.
Thank you for your support which means so much to me and the Millard family.
