Dear Family and Friends:
We are now at the midpoint in our campaign to help Cecile Roth in her Woman of the Year Campaign here in Northern Delaware. I know I have sent you many e-mails and Facebook postings and I am sure you are tired of seeing my name pop up. Well, here is why I am doing this. Cecil’s son Robert would have been 50 years old today. Unfortunately, Robert lost his life 25 years ago to Leukemia. In his honor Ceil created team RMA (Robert Mark Ackerman and Research Means Answers).
She does not want another mother to go through what she had to go through. We need to find a cure for blood cancers. To find cures we need research and researchers. This all takes money. That is why we are doing this. We need to raise money to fund the research. Again, we are asking you, no we are really begging you to please click the link below and donate. Yes, we wish that everyone could donate big, but we understand everyone has their priorities. So please donate whatever amount you can. Donate for a loved one that was touched by cancer, donate in honor of your children, a parent or a spouse, just DONATE.

We want to thank those who have already donated to this great cause. We want to thank you in advance to those who will rise to the cause and help us collect as much money as we can.

Dear Friends and Family,
Four years ago, Jeannette and I moved to Delaware to be closer to our son and his family. We joined, our son Robert’s temple and met the most wonderful couple, Ceil and Walter Roth. Ceil and Walter helped us find Doctors, Dentists, mechanics and so much more. We learned about each other’s families and became close. We learned that Ceil is involved in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) because 25 years ago her son Robert who was 25 at the time passed away from Leukemia. Unfortunately, last year Walter passed away from Covid-19.
You may (or may not) have heard of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). Well, each year, LLS runs a fundraising campaign called Man and Woman of the Year. In 2016, Ceil ran, and won, Woman of the Year, raising over $80,000. In honor of what would have been Robert’s 50th Birthday Ceil is running again for Northern Delaware’s 2021 Woman of the Year All-Star, which means she will be competing on a National level.
What does this mean? We need to raise money. Lots of money. Anything you can give will support LLS’s mission in its efforts to find cures for blood cancers and to assist patients and families as they battle this disease.
We realize right now is a bad time to ask for your monetary support. We are sure your bank accounts are down a little due to the coronavirus. We are all at home working remotely and quite possibly some of you have lost your jobs. I feel for everyone being affected by coronavirus.
So how can you help? First off, any support will go a long way. $5, $10, $50…. ANYTHING. If the coronavirus didn’t happen and you would have given “$XXX”, please give 50% of that...if that is too much, 25%...if that is too much, please just give something. Even with everything going on and the uncertainty of the economy please take the time to help.
For those of you that know us know we are not the type of people to ask anyone for money, but we have jumped on the band wagon to help Ceil achieve her goal. Please, please take a few minutes and click the link, https://pages.lls.org/mwoy/de/delaware21/rteitelbau, or scan the QR code located in this letter to donate to our fundraising page. I ask you to pass this along to any of your friends or business associates.
Every penny earned helps us to someday find a cure to this disease. We all have been touched by someone with some form of cancer. In their memory, please make a donation. All donations must be received by June 15, 2021.
Thank you so much for all of your help and support.
