Goal Planning with your Staff Partner

One of the most important steps to success is setting clear goals—and you don’t have to do it alone. Your dedicated staff partner is here to help you create a personalized fundraising plan that works for you. Together, you’ll map out achievable milestones, celebrate progress, and stay motivated along the way. Goal planning is the key to reaching (and exceeding!) your fundraising goals, and your staff partner will be there to support you every step of the way. 5 Steps to Successful Fundraising

Every dollar you raise fuels life-saving research, patient support, and hope for families impacted by blood cancer. Together, we “shred” to bring cures closer and give patients more moments with the people they love. Here’s how to get started: 

  1. Register early!
    Proven time and again: the earlier you register, the more you raise. Get a head start on your fundraising and your impact. 
  2. Kickstart your fundraising
    Make a personal donation to lead by example. t shows your commitment and inspires others to give. 
  3. Customize your fundraising page
    Share your personal story and photos that highlight why you Shred For Red for cancer cures. USE THE HOW-TO GUIDE HERE 
  4. Connect to Facebook Fundraising
    Quickly expand your reach by linking your fundraising page to Facebook. Go to your Participant Dashboard and use these instructions 
  5. Share Your Why
    Let your family and friends know why this matters to you. That’s what they care about most! This one pager walks you through how to craft a compelling story on your personal fundraising page.

Online Donations

Secure online donations can be collected through your personal or team fundraising page. Access both pages through the Participant Dashboard in the top-right of your screen.

When an online donation is made, the donor will receive an email donation receipt upon successful completion of the donation. This email is an official record that can be used to claim the donation as a deduction for U.S. taxes. 

Checks

Mobile Deposit:
You are now able to deposit checks via your smartphone using these step-by-step instructions.

Checks should be made payable to Blood Cancer United. 

When sending checks, please include: 

  • 2026 Shred For Red 
  • Name of the participant or team the donation should be applied to 

 

Donation Receipt:
When a donation of $100+ is made by mail, the donor will receive a thank you letter to the address provided which can be used to claim a donation as a deduction on U.S. taxes. If for some reason the donor does not receive a receipt, you or the donor can reach out to [email protected] or (888) 557-7177.

NOTE: Please DO NOT send cash in the mail.
 

Matching Gifts 

Most private companies match a donation made by their employees, thus doubling, or even tripling their gift! When someone donates to your page, they will be asked to enter their company name. If their company has a match program in place, the donor will simply follow the steps outlined by their company to start the matching gift process. 

  • Once the donation match request is submitted to the matching company, please let us know by filling out the Matching Gifts Form.
