All participants will be charged a registration fee that will not count towards your fundraising total for incentives. The registration fee is $40 until April 10th but increases to $50 on April 11th until event day.
Is there a fundraising minimum?
There is no fundraising minimum, but all Big Climb participants are encouraged to fundraise for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission. In 2022, Big Climb participants raised an average of $600, set your goal and get started today!
Where do my donations go?
All donations from Big Climb help support the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and to help improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
When is the fundraising deadline?
To receive a Big Climb Tech T-shirt, you must reach $250 raised prior to the event day. You also have the opportunity to continue to fundraise after the event to further support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission to cure blood cancer. The more you raise, the more you are rewarded. Check out the recognition page for more information.
What is the age minimum allowed to climb?
The National guidance is 8 years or older to climb, however we are leaving it up to the parents/guardian’s judgement. All children will be required to climb with an adult. All participants will sign a waiver. No exceptions.
How do teams work?
When you sign up as a team, you are signing up to climb at the same time slot. Your team captain will submit preferences, when prompted by LLS, for climb times and the whole team climbs during that time. No exceptions.
Can I change my start time?
No. All start times are final. No exceptions.
When will wave times be assigned?
Wave times to be finalized the week prior to the event and sent via email to the team and/or individual.
What time does the event start?
The event doors will open at 8:00 am with our first climb starting at 9:00 am.
Can I register on event day?
Online registration will close at 11:59 pm on May 6. You may join us to register onsite from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. Those who register in person may have to wait for an available wave time and may have to climb separately from requested participants or teams.
Where can I park?
Participants and spectators can park in the L Lot of Lincoln Financial Field. NOTE: There will be a concert at Citizens Bank Park who will be using the K Lot for parking. If you have a later climb time, please plan for extra time in case of traffic. Tailgating parking lots for the concert will open at 11:00 a.m.
Can I take public transportation to/from the event?
You can take the broad street line subway right to the stadium area and walk over to Lincoln Financial Field which is about a 10-minute walk.
What time should I arrive?
We ask that you arrive 30-45 minutes prior to your assigned start time so you can enjoy the basecamp festival activities.
Can I bring anything with me during the climb other than my phone?
A small fanny pack or baby carrier is allowed. Strollers and big backpacks are not allowed on the climb route.
Is there a bag check area provided?
There will be a free bag check area for personal items in the festival area. Bags must be small enough to fit in a regular brown shopping bag.
Where do I line up for my climb time?
Announcements will be made 15 minutes prior to your start time. Volunteers will guide you after checking in.
How many steps will I be climbing?
Participants will climb over 2,000 steps. We utilize open-air stairwells, ramps and most importantly the inside of the stadium bowl seating!
Where are water stops?
There will be water stops placed throughout the stadium.
Can my family come to the event? Where can they wait for me to finish?
Yes! They can meet you at the Basecamp Festival Area. Both adults and children can have fun at the Big Climb Philly Combine with different activities (corn hole, big Jenga, photo booths) and more!
What is the Summit Club?
The Summit Club offers an exclusive experience for climbers who have fundraised $1,000 or more prior to the event. There will be food and beverages provided in the tented area for participants to enjoy.
Will any Eagles players be in attendance?
Tarron Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles Defensive End, will attend Big Climb Philly! Tarron is mission connected and lost his brother to blood cancer when they were younger. If you see him, make sure to say hello! Throughout the day we will also have surprise appearances from the Philadelphia Eagles Mascot, Swoop, the Eagles Cheerleaders, and the Eagles Drumline!
What happens if it rains?
The event is rain or shine. If it is raining on event day, please wear appropriate clothing. Participants will not be allowed to climb with an umbrella.
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately, dogs and other animals are not allowed on the premises of Lincoln Financial Field.
Are strollers allowed at the event?
Strollers are allowed onsite in the Basecamp Festival Area. No strollers will be allowed on the climb route.
